Today was Enrichment Day. These days come round once a year and rock! There are no lessons on this day. You just have to go on an excursion that will help you learn something new. For me, I went to the NEWater plant in Bedok-Tenah Merah that side.
I am actually very impressed with Singapore's technology. It's so much better last time. The whole NEWater thing was very well organised and I think everyone should go there and 'see-see look-look'. I'm am not completely sure if you can free roam. I'm guessing not. They have tours at 9am, 11-sth, sth-sth and 4pm, which is the last tour.
You will see what are the processes that make used water into NEWater. The thought of used water seems disgusting, but once you see how 'kiasu' Singapore is in putting more purification processes, I think you would be convinced. Wait let me get the paper here.
First theres the Microfiltration stage. This process gets rid of the Suspended solids, viruses, bacteria etc. This one just purifies the water mildly. The killer one is, Reverse Osmosis. It gets rid of every single impurity. Most countries stop at this stage, but being 'kiasu' Singapore pushes it to UV Disinfection. This process completely purifies the water until cannot purify. But it lowers the water pH value to 5.7. It has to go through water conditioning, whereby you add Sodium Hydroxide and Sodium Hypochloride. Something like that. Just visit the plant, it's really fun.
NEWater, at first, tastes very chemical like. But you'll get used to it. It's sweet once you let the water settle down. It's cool. Lol on the bottles, they call it 'Reverse Osmosis (RO) Water). I think they just want to show off their English skills or something.
Oh and the tour guide is really nice. I mean her character's good, and I can tell she knows a lot about her job. They speak quite well too. Like whoa, better than some of us.
Then when the whole thing ended, it was like 10+am. We went back to school and had a long recess. Since I'm not much of a soccer player anymore, I do not play soccer with the class. They are all attitude people and only pass the ball to good players. So if you want to play, you can jolly well 'AFK' on the pitch. Now I totally hate long recesses. Since different people go to different excursions, the canteen is not so crowded. We just buy our food, eat, then buy some drinks or whatever. Guess what? Only a few minutes have passed. You are contented with your meal and want to go to the classrooms to study, but since there are no lessons today, it's boring.
Oh and in the train today, I was devising a plan to 'pangsei' one of my classmates. A threat-free, funny, 70% successful 'pangsei' mission. All my plans are too dangerous. It involves perfect timing and you stand a chance to die. It's not very nice.
Well I will update on that as soon as Monday comes by.
